There is a new version of the payroll specification document available on

the Inland Revenue website at:

This new version includes the following:

 

* Inclusion of Payroll giving updates

legislation about payroll giving is effective from 7 January 2010. from

that date IR will accept payroll giving information in the new format for

pay periods with an end date on or after 7 January 2010. Payroll giving is

voluntary so employers do not have to upgrade their payroll software to

use any payroll giving functionality if the do upgrade.

 

* A reformat of the payroll specification document

In line with feedback received from the software developer community, the

\”look\” and \”feel\” of the payroll specification has changed.
