Join NZPPA
When you join NZPPA, you pay a one-off initial joining fee that covers your membership setup. This fee is not pro-rated and applies regardless of when you join during the year.
Did you know? Registered charities with IRD receive 50% off all NZPPA training.
From June in the year following your joining date, you will receive an annual membership subscription invoice, covering the period from June to June. Annual subscriptions are always charged at a reduced rate compared to the initial joining fee.

Individual Membership (in Member’s name) (Initial joining fee)
Designed for payroll practitioners based in New Zealand who require membership in their own name. Membership is registered to an individual and provides access to all NZPPA membership services exclusively for the named member. Membership benefits are not transferable or shareable.
Includes:
- Full access to NZPPA membership services
- Access to the NZPPA Members Portal
- One complimentary printed copy of the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide.
Company Membership (in Company name) (Initial joining fee)
Designed for New Zealand-based organisations that process their own internal payroll.
Membership is registered in the company’s name and may be used by any employee within the organisation, making it ideal for businesses with payroll teams that share resources, support, and professional development.
Includes:
- Full access to NZPPA membership services
- Access to the NZPPA Members Portal
- One complimentary printed copy of the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide.
The annual subscription fee is $340.00, billed each June for the following membership year.
Corporate Membership(includes all payroll staff) (Initial joining fee)
Designed for larger organisations with multiple payroll team members requiring individual access to NZPPA resources and services.
Membership includes up to eight individual logins, allowing team members to directly access training resources, technical support, and professional development opportunities.
Includes:
- Up to eight individual member logins
- Full access to NZPPA membership services
- Access to the NZPPA Members Portal
- Five complimentary printed copies of the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide.
NZPPA Payroll Bureau Membership
Designed for organisations based in New Zealand that provide outsourced payroll services to clients.
Membership supports both client payroll and the bureau’s internal payroll operations. Membership benefits and services may be used by any employee within the organisation.
Includes:

- Access to the NZPPA Members Portal
- One complimentary printed copy of the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide
Overseas Membership (Australia)
Designed for organisations processing New Zealand payroll from outside New Zealand for an associated New Zealand-based business.
This membership is not intended for organisations providing payroll bureau services to external clients. Membership benefits and services may be used by any employee within the organisation.

- Access to the NZPPA Members Portal
- One complimentary printed copy of the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide.
The annual subscription fee is: $490.00 (billed in June each year for the following year)
Overseas Membership (Outsourced Payroll) (Initial joining fee)
Designed for organisations processing New Zealand payroll from overseas on behalf of New Zealand-based clients.
Membership supports payroll bureau operations and may be used by any employee within the organisation.
Includes:

- Access to the NZPPA Members Portal
- One complimentary printed copy of the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide
The annual subscription fee is $590.00, billed each June for the following membership year.
Not-for-profit Membership* (Initial joining fee)
Designed for incorporated societies, trusts, and other not-for-profit organisations that process their own payroll.Membership is registered in the organisation’s name and includes one login. Membership benefits and services may be used by any employee within the organisation.
Includes:
- Full access to NZPPA membership services
- Access to the NZPPA Members Portal
- One complimentary printed copy of the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide.
The annual subscription fee is $232.00, billed each June for the following membership year
SMALL BUSINESS Membership (in Business name) (Initial joining fee)
Designed specifically for small businesses that process their own payroll in-house.
Membership includes one login and provides access to all standard NZPPA membership services and resources.
Includes:
- Full access to NZPPA membership services
- Access to the NZPPA Members Portal
- Online access to the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide
Please note: This membership does not include a printed copy of the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide.
The annual subscription fee is $140, billed each June for the following membership year.
Not-for-profit (Charity) Membership
Available exclusively to charities that are approved Inland Revenue (IR) donee organisations and process their own internal payroll.
Membership is registered in the charity’s name and includes one login. Membership benefits and services may be used by any employee within the organisation.
Includes:
- Full access to NZPPA membership services
- Access to the NZPPA Members Portal
- One complimentary printed copy of the NZPPA Payroll Practice Guide.
- 50% discount on all NZPPA training courses
Resigning from NZPPA
Membership remains active until you formally resign in writing or by email.
Annual membership fees are invoiced on 1 June each year. If you resign, the annual fee remains payable in full and will be pro-rated from 1 June for each full month (part months are not pro-rated).
NZPPA does not refund membership fees, including the initial joining fee or annual subscription.
