Q: I have a query regarding sick leave entitlement and hope you can assist me on this.

If employee sick leave entitlement falls on maternity leave as per the law will she supposed to receive 10 sick leave days.

I hope she should receive 10 sick days since maternity leave is consider as continuous service, however I would like to get it confirm from you. Thank you J

A: There is no such thing as maternity leave under the parental leave act it was replaced with primary carers leave.

All parental leave is counted as continuous service under the Holidays Act (Section 16) so the employee will get all leave entitlements they normally would.
