Relevant Daily Pay

Q: I have a question regarding relevant daily pay.

The employee’s salary is $1,200 per fortnight (5 days per week), so her daily pay is $240.

And the employee gets a fortnightly car allowance of $800.

So, when RDP is used for paying out FBAPS leave, the payment for a day’s leave is $240, is that correct?

As the allowance is already covered by the fortnightly payment.

A: Yes RDP would be based on the salary rate as the car allowance is based on a fortnightly payment and not part of the day. But do check the employment agreement to ensure there is no mention of the day for the car allowance. “

So not paid by the employer.
