Parental leave question

Q: Was wondering if I’m correct, that if someone is asked to leave work early because of complication with pregnancy then PL is deemed to start early and cannot go on sick leave

We have employee who left early because of the floods in Hastings and due to stress of this was told to finish up earlier.  She now wants to be paid sick leave

Can we pay sick leave as more than what the act says

A: So, is the employee sick or injured?  Did the employee ask to take SL or was it the employer?  Does the employee meet the criteria to get primary carers leave?

Q: So, is the employee sick or injured?   Employee wasn’t sick as much as stress from floods and anxiety of having to move etc

Did the employee ask to take SL or was it the employer?  She is asking to  have sick leave back dated, leading up to her original start date of PL  because she ended up leaving 3 weeks earlier
Does the employee meet the criteria to get primary carers leave? Yes
A: If the employee was not sick or injured, they cannot take SL, if you provided this minimum leave entitlement it would be compliant with the act.
