Parental Leave

Q: Im taking parental leave soon for the minimum of 26 weeks as per government. I am entitled to the full 52 weeks of extended leave. I am wondering if I am allowed to take the 26 weeks paid parental leave and once this ends, then take annual leave after this.

A: Couple of things here.

Yes you can use annual holidays entitlement after the 26 weeks.

If you are using annual holidays earned while on parental leave it means only AWE can be used and it could mean you get a lower rate (because of the unpaid parental leave).  If you are using annual holidays entitlement earned prior to parental leave then it is still greater of AWE and OWP and OWP would be greater so you get the value.
