Q: Just trying to clarify the use of sick leave in conjunction with the leave support payments to pay an employee their regular wage whilst they are isolating as a household contact.
Should we be doing this, as they are not sick, and while their adult child who lives at home and has tested positive, does not necessarily need care from their parent i.e dependent requiring care as per the Act.
A: If the employee is not sick then they cannot take SL.
