Company Name Change – Is a New Contract Required

Q: One of the companies within our group recently changed their name – all other details have stayed the same (ie. same GST number, same company number, same directors, etc).

Is it necessary to re-issue the staff’s employment contracts in the new company name?


A: All you need to do is issue a variation to the agreement stating the employer name has changed, but the terms and conditions already agreed upon have not.
