Annual Leave Rate

Q: Just wondering about the policy when it comes to the continuous annual leave rate.

Do we use the rate at the start of the leave period?

A: If an employee takes annual leave entitlement (at the 12-month mark), two calculations, AWE and OWP, define the annual leave rate (the higher of the two).

Q: The other question is, if an employee is on leave for the first week and it is continuous in the second week, do we use the higher of the two leave rates?

A: If they took 5 weeks of annual leave continuously, the rate at the start of the leave is the rate used, even if there was a pay increase, as we are talking about a leave rate or their ordinary agreed rate.
