Accreditation Options with NZPPA

Being an accredited member of NZPPA means that the payroll practitioner has shown over a defined period of time that they have worked towards building payroll as a profession in New Zealand.

This is about giving something back to payroll in helping to gain recognition for the important work that payroll professionals do every day and for every pay to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.

There are two accreditation levels being:

  • Associate NZPPA (ANZPPA)

  • Fellow NZPPA (FNZPPA)

*To gain the accreditation level of FNZPPA the applicant must have held the accreditation level of ANZPPA for at least 1 year.

Associate NZPPA accredited member (ANZPPA)

NZPPA members that are currently certified (at any level) and can demonstrate that they have given ongoing professional service to their organisation in the payroll work they undertake and have aided in the development of the payroll profession or have raised awareness of payroll as a profession through their own efforts or in being part of a larger project or undertaking.

Examples: Assisting in running a payroll networking event, making regular posts or articles to a payroll forum.

The applicant must provide evidence of how they have aided in the development of payroll as a profession and must provide the names of at least three referees who can validate the application form and can be contacted directly to confirm the activities and evidence that has been submitted.

Once the applicant has been accepted they are able to use ANZPPA.

Fellow NZPPA accredited member (FNZPPA)

NZPPA members that are currently certified (at any level), have already gain the accreditation level of ANZPPA and can demonstrate that they have given outstanding professional service to their organisation in the payroll work they undertake and the Payroll profession or have brought distinction to it through their own efforts or in being part of a larger project or undertaking.

Examples: Organising and managing a payroll event, writing regular articles to a payroll or mainstream publication promoting payroll as a profession.

The applicant must provide evidence of how they have aided in the development of payroll as a profession and must provide the names of at least three referees who can validate the application form and can be contacted directly to confirm the activities and evidence that has been submitted.
