[IRD] Payroll Specification – reminder to use version 3 and not version 2

Please ensure you are using version 3 of the 2010/2011 payroll specification and not version 2.

IRD statistics show a number of copies of version 2 have been downloaded since version 3 was issued on 23rd December 2009.  IRD sent two emails (23rd December 2009 & 15th January 2010) have been sent to payroll developers who are subscribed for payroll email alerts.

IRD know using the correct version of the specification is critical, and IRD want to ensure you are using the most up-to-date version.

IRD have removed version 2 from their website, however IRD IT people advise that it may still be available to those who have saved the document or searched the document through search engines (e.g. Google, Yahoo!, Bing, etc).  You may still be able to download version 2 due to caching at ISPs.

Upcoming Changes

Due to very recent changes advised to Inland Revenue by Westpac and our ongoing updating of operating systems and browsers, Inland Revenue is planning to send out an update alert next week to advise of pending amendments to sections 2.2 and 8.3 of the specification.  To receive this, please ensure you are subscribed to receive payroll developers updates by going to the IRD website and to http://www.ird.govt.nz/software-developers/software-dev-specs/ to subscribe.
