FOR:

Intermediate to advanced payroll practitioners who want to learn how incentives, rewards, and remuneration are created, run, and managed through payroll.

Please note: This course is not suited to someone new to payroll or in an entry-level payroll position.

PURPOSE

Having an effective incentive, reward, and remuneration system in the workplace can increase productivity and employee satisfaction while delivering a measurable return on investment.

For payroll, a complete understanding of, and involvement in, the development and ongoing management of reward and remuneration schemes is essential to ensure payroll processing aligns with legislative and compliance requirements.

The purpose of this course is to raise awareness and understanding for payroll practitioners on incentives, rewards, and remuneration from a payroll perspective.

Each participant will be provided with a comprehensive course manual containing checklists, step-by-step procedures, and reference material.

COURSE ACCESS

All learning activities are available through the eLearning environment. When starting the course, a course manual will be couriered to the student as the guide for the course.

Students can also access downloadable materials and use a range of external websites and resources.

Activities and assessments can be accessed through the eLearning environment, uploaded, and marked and reported online to the student.

You will also have access to the course material in the form of an online flipping book if you wish to start before the physical course material arrives.

DURATION

As an online course, once the course start date is confirmed, the course will be available for six weeks only. Additional extensions may be requested based on work or other circumstances if required.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Understand why payroll must fully understand incentive, reward, and remuneration systems and how they impact payroll.
  • Describe the difference between incentives and rewards.
  • Explain how an incentive scheme is developed and implemented.
  • Explain how a rewards scheme is developed and implemented.
  • Explain what remuneration is and how it is structured to meet business and employee needs.
  • Overview of remuneration structures and how to implement them.
  • What a remuneration survey is and how to use one.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Define incentives, rewards, and remuneration in relation to payroll.
  2. Describe how incentive, reward, and remuneration systems are created, applied, and managed through payroll.
  3. Explain a range of terms and conditions used within incentive, reward, and remuneration systems.

On successful completion of the course (passing the end-of-course assessment), attendees will receive an NZPPA Certificate.

NZPPA CERTIFICATION

This course will, in part, help with completing the online assessment requirements for NZPPA Certification to become a recognised payroll professional.
