Accordant Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Consultant to join our team based in Auckland CBD. This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.

About the Role

As a Payroll Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services for our subsidiaries Madison Recruitment and AWF Ltd.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with the end-to-end payroll process, including payroll preparation, processing, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of temporary employees and contractors.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports and employee payroll documentation.
  • Process PAYE, KiwiSaver, payday filing, and other statutory payroll requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with managers to support employee onboarding and payroll queries.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with employment agreements, company policies, and employment legislation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across payroll processes and systems.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A minimum of two years’ payroll experience managing or supporting end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Sound knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation, including PAYE, KiwiSaver, the Holidays Act, and payday filing requirements.
  • Experience working with payroll systems and managing employee payroll data.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet payroll deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

Experience within a high-volume payroll environment will be viewed favourably.
