Projects

NZPPA is committed to developing the payroll profession and to do this will undertake a range of projects to provide support to NZPPA members and assist the industry as a whole.

We have a number of projects that will be started in 2008; project scope documents will be added to this page in the near future.

The projects are:

  • Payroll Best Practice/Benchmarking

What is best practice for payroll? This project aims to identify a set of best practice principles and benchmarks that will act as a generic template for any payroll function.

  • Developing a payroll standard

From feedback from its members, NZPPA would like to develop a compliance standard for payroll applications. This would assure payroll practitioners that any payroll application that has been audited against the compliance standard at least meets legislative requirements. This would of course be voluntary for payroll providers.

  • Glossary of New Zealand payroll terms

This project will produce an A-Z of payroll terms, jargon and abbreviations.

  • Generic Payroll policy template

This project is to develop a standard policy template for a typical payroll function.

  • Online generic payroll procedures manual template

This project is to develop an online payroll compliance manual that NZPPA members can access through the members-only area. It will cover the generic processes and procedures that any payroll function should perform.
