Keeping NZ Paid – NZPPA Virtual Payroll Summit 2020

The NZPPA Virtual Payroll Summit aims to get the latest information out into the hands of payroll practitioners so they can help their businesses in this challenging time.

NZPPA, through its PayTech AdviceLine and a range of online NZPPA groups, is seeing questions raised or actions taken by employers that are impacting on payroll. Often these actions are wrong in terms of the government’s support package and the legislation that payroll must work within.

Payroll must provide clear advice on what the business can and cannot do at this unprecedented time regarding:

  • how the government support scheme should be applied to employees through payroll
  • how the business must act in regard to seeking agreement from employees when wanting to change an employee’s agreed terms and conditions of employment
  • the process for making redundancies and what payroll needs to know to ensure an employee’s termination pay is correct.

Over more than three hours, the summit will have five speakers all subject matter experts in their fields along with a panel Q&A in the last session. The summit will be chaired by the well-known media personality, Michele A’Court (to keep everyone engaged in this online summit).
