NZPPA BOOTCAMP 2022
NZPPA BOOTCAMP 2022
– Let’s get the next generation of payrollers moving!
Overview of this year’s BOOTCAMP 2022
For the last 2 years NZPPA has run a BOOTCAMP special event to focus on specific skill areas of payroll for experienced payroll practitioners. This year we are doing BOOTCAMP a little differently focusing on the entry level skills for our new payrollers. The reason for this is there is presently a critical shortage of experienced payroll practitioners and NZPPA wants to aid in the development of new payrollers coming into our profession by giving them the best start possible.
This BOOTCAMP is not aimed to replace formal training but should be seen as an extra step to enhance and give new payrollers extra confidence in their new payroll role.
BOOTCAMP instructors are seasoned payroll professionals with years of experience in operational payroll (and with the wrinkles to prove it).
This half day special event should be seen as essential professional development step for your new payroll practitioners. BOOTCAMP can be viewed as the live event or attendees can view the recorded session OnDemand after the event. Attendees will also have access to BOOTCAMP presentations and any resource materials used. Attendees can ask questions through the sessions and will be encouraged to do so.
Over the course of this half day special virtual event the following six topic areas will be covered:
- The 5 essential activities a payroller must do to keep payroll complaint, correct and employees paid on time.
- Introduction to calculating PAYE, tax codes, earner levy and the requirements to be met by the employee for an ir330.
- Kiwisaver fundamentals eligibility, opting in, opting out, contribution rates.
- What deductions can be made from an employees pay?
- Main employee leave types and calculations (Holidays Act and Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act).
- Essential payroll record keeping, reporting and privacy requirements
