Purpose

Human Resource Management can be defined as all the concepts, activities, strategies, policies and procedures organisations use in managing and developing the people who work within it.

To achieve this, payroll practitioners need knowledge and understanding of HR to enable them to cater for the diverse HR needs of employees that they encounter in the payroll function.

The course is run in a workshop format with practical examples and case studies that allow managers to explore topics in depth and aid in the transfer of learning back to their workplace.

  • Communication and building relationships with your employees
  • Recruitment and selection (overview)
  • Offering employment and employment agreements (what’s important for payroll practitioners to know)
  • Providing effective induction

Day Two

  • Training and development (structure, framework, processes)
  • Performance Management & Performance Review (steps, tasks, and activities involved)
  • Remuneration (remuneration frameworks and processes)
  • Handling employment problems (performance improvement programmes)
  • Disciplinary process essentials (process, steps, essential requirements)
